The mount Cameroon is an active Volcano in the south West Region of Cameroon. It is 4095 m high and thus the highest mountain in West Africa. The last erruption took place in the year 2000. Mount Cameroon is also called Mt Fako but its most inspiring name is "The Chariot of the God's".
The temperatures can descend up to 1 °C and its difficult to work up. The best months of the year to go for hiking here is from December to February.
For accomodation the City of Buea is closer to the mountain and provides good hotels and restaurants.
